inkedIn, one of the largest social networks in the world for business professionals is coming to Rockhampton.
LinkedIn Local Rockhampton will host their first event on October 24 to allow local people to connect with their LinkedIn network offline and create meaningful interactions face to face.
LinkedIn Local Rockhampton manager Kieran Moran said people will have the chance to know the person behind the LinkedIn profile in a no-pitch, no-selling event.
“LinkedIn Local Rockhampton is a meetup concept with a difference,” Mr Moran said.
“It allows people to connect with their LinkedIn network offline and create meaningful interactions without the fear of being pitched to or sold at.”
LinkedIn is a social network for the business community. The online site is a place for professionals to connect with past and current colleagues, increase their number of business connections and network within their industry.
“LinkedIn Local started as a grassroots movement, grew into a curated community and is now an open source community supported by LinkedIn,” Mr Moran said.
“It’s now a global community by the users of LinkedIn designed to take online relationships offline to get to know the person behind the profile.”
Proudly supported by Resource Industry Media, Triple A Safety, Risk & Compliance and the Headricks Lane, the event will be held bi-monthly on a Thursday night from 5pm to 7pm.
Triple A Safety, Risk & Compliance managing director Alan Anderson said supporting LinkedIn Local Rockhampton will help build a stronger Rockhampton community.
“Being a business owner in central Queensland for nearly 10 years I understand the pressures and balancing acts of operating a successful business during hard times,” Mr Anderson said.
“Triple A is here to aid both new and existing businesses to properly manage all health and safety related obligations and to ensure everyone goes home safe and well every day.”
Mr Moran added those that attend the event do not have to be LinkedIn users but more interested in connecting with local businesses and people. The first event will be held on Thursday, October 24 from 5pm to 7pm at the Headricks Lane.
